Authentic Designs builds historically accurate lighting fixtures by hand in our rural Vermont workshops. We specialize in Early American and Colonial designs, and also create lighting designs reproduced from (or inspired by) other styles and traditions. Sources for our designs include private collections, historic buildings, restorations, museums, auction houses and antique dealers.
All of the chandeliers, sconces, wall lanterns, post lanterns, floor and table lamps which you see on this website were entirely built here in our workshops. Many manufacturers these days import their components, meaning that only the assembly is done locally. We start from scratch using tools and machines that we have acquired over the years, salvaged, or in some cases built ourselves. We use only the finest raw materials, including brass, copper, terne, and American-grown hardwoods. We take great care to ensure that the quality and durability of our lights are as lasting as the originals by which we are inspired.

All of our fixtures are UL listed for damp locations, and many are also listed for wet locations. Custom orders are welcome. Interested in installing our lights overseas? Contact us to inquire about our international wiring options.
