For some time now, we here at Authentic Designs have been creating custom fixtures for various decorating, design and architectural firms, in addition to our catalogue of hand-built lighting fixtures.
Some of these lights are quite contemporary, and some use unique, one-of-a-kind architectural elements, which we have incorporated into the new designs.
As seen above, from left to right:
- Verdigris copper lantern built for Tudor Revival home in W. Hartford CT. Right hand is 1920's original, at left is our copy.
- 32" cage light, antiqued brass. Developed & built from original design for custom installation in contemporary ocean-front home.
- Copper hood light designed for an indoor garden conservatory. Can accommodate regular or T5 full spectrum bulbs (grow lights).
Nina Mooney, a designer based in New York & Vermont, commissioned us to utilize this antique single-tree wagon axle in creating a custom lighting fixture, to illuminate an antique pool table at the the Hilltop Inn. Without altering its finish or form, we adapted the original artifact and custom-built three coated copper lampshades; repurposed axle tree was carefully wired with a brass frame that blends nicely with the original hardware.
